Life And Health Pre-Licensing Requirements For South Dakota
There are no pre-licensing requirements for life and health insurance licensing in South Dakota. Even so, it is important to study sufficiently to increase your chance of passing on the first try.

South Dakota Life And Health Insurance Exam RequirementsRegister for your licensing exam with Pearson VUE. Each individual exam - Life Insurance and Accident & Health Insurance - has a $85 fee. Alternatively, you can take the combined life and health licensing exam for a fee. On exam day, present your valid photo I.D. like a state-issued I.D. or driver's license. The individual exams are 90 multiple-choice questions, including 15 pre-test questions, with a two-hour time limit.
The combined South Dakota Life and Accident & Health Insurance Examination is 145 multiple-choice questions (15 pre-test) in two hours and 30 minutes. If you get 70 percent or more correct, you will receive a passing score report and can apply for your license at Sircon or through NIPR within the next 12 months.
