Alabama Life And Health Pre-Licensing Requirements For Resident AgentsFirst, you must complete a state-approved 20-hr pre-licensing course for each line of insurance you wish to become licensed in. Your test will be in Birmingham, Mobile, Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery or Gadsden. The fee for both the Health and Life Insurance lines is $75. For Life-only or Accident and Health-only, the fee is $50.
Bring a valid government-issued ID and your pre-licensing certificate of completion on the scheduled test date. You will find your results on the Alabama Department of Insurance website in three days or less. After passing, schedule to get fingerprinted for $48.25 at https://www.aps.gemalto.com.
